My personal belief is that tha... free essay sample

My own conviction is that that generalizations are one of the most destructive of human activities, and influence people contrarily from numerous points of view, particularly from the viewpoint of psychological well-being. Studies have indicated that negative generalizations and convictions without anyone else and others can become inevitable outcomes, bringing about negative results regardless of whether they are false. This thusly prompts the disguise of feelings and sentiments of disgrace, or emotions that you need to accomplish certain objectives so as to be cheerful throughout everyday life, in any event, when these are false or sensible. These deceptions which are constrained on us additionally sway people groups battles with psychological sickness. The most ideal way I have come to comprehend the impacts of bogus discernments is through the Student/Teacher unavoidable outcome idea. In one investigation testing this idea , for instance, instructors at a school were informed that a specific gathering of understudies were relied upon to make more noteworthy scholarly progress dependent on a test they had recently taken. We will compose a custom article test on My own conviction is that tha or on the other hand any comparative subject explicitly for you Don't WasteYour Time Recruit WRITER Just 13.90/page Toward the finish of the school year, the understudies who had been relied upon to accomplish better grades scored 10%-15% higher than their individual schoolmates. Later it was uncovered that the understudies were haphazardly chosen †with no reason for expressing that some would show improvement over others. This investigation shows how a previous thought can control people groups mentalities. Studies have likewise demonstrated that a similar circumstance exists for names utilized for a people sex, race, religion thus substantially more when a few people have wrong discernments or inclinations about another person, this common recognition can really discovers that people activities. Albeit a ton of segregation and inclination been decreased, people groups biases regularly result from programmed propensities to help individuals (and convictions) that are like themselves or their own perspectives †regardless of whether this damages others. We designed marks with the view that there is a physical flawlessness and precision to everything in our reality which basically isnt the case. We as people need to develop and change as the universes and people groups impression of the world change. At the point when individuals are informed that they are something or that they should browse a prev ious constrained scope of thoughts, it limits the human brain and has the ability to mentally hurt people, since they can't see how they can communicate if there isnt an exact word for who they really feel and accept they are and they are having various marks being constrained upon them. This was affirmed in another investigation where it was discovered that if the two guardians accepted that their youngster was manhandling liquor the kid would wind up mishandling liquor later on. Study HypothesisThrough my review, I will show that societys more youthful ages have been misguided with respect to what will make sentiments of accomplishment, satisfaction, adaptability and versatility for the span of ones life. My overview will distinguish the qualities and thoughts that youngsters accept will prompt their own effective, cheerful, strong life. I expect that these individual qualities and thoughts will be unique in relation to the standard qualities that our general public and guardians have persuaded bring achievement and bliss: for instance, decent instruction, a lucrative activity with status, raising a family, etc.According to Psychology Today; the four essential life destinations are meaning, uprightness, achievement and joy. My investigation is concentrating on figuring out which objectives a great many people take a stab at over the span of their lives and which social develops we are advised to satisfy so as to accomplish these characteristics. My expectati ons is comprehend the impact of society and its builds on the people like me who are starting to design the remainder of their lives. It is conceivable anyway that societys sees are so profoundly set in individuals, that even my study won't have the option to isolate people groups genuine perspectives and the convictions of others, similar to their folks, that they have embraced without knowing it. Preliminary and ErrorI started this test by giving out a few primer studies to see whether there were any extra social develops or significant qualities which I had not yet considered in my studies. In the wake of accepting remarks from my companions, I chose to include Social Media as a trademark since I had missed it in my starter overviews and I accept that everybody is either straightforwardly or in a roundabout way influenced by it in our current society.Comparison What does the normal high schooler accept will keep them having a sense of security and approved and which social builds have erroneously educated them regarding unwarranted techniques for achieving those ideals? This correlation I accept is pertinent in light of the fact that it would illuminate us regarding the belief systems and estimations of the age which is going to enter the grown-up world. Ideally this examination will help those see all the more completely the impact that society has on the mental soundness o f my peers. Results My studies affirmed a solid association between unwarranted social builds and those qualities which genuinely acquire satisfaction life. For instance, this can be demonstrated that in spite of the fact that monogamy has been disproven as a characteristic event, 70% of reactions to my study showed this was accepted to be a basic factor in the quest for importance, respectability, achievement and bliss.

You'll likewise figure out how lab reports are organized and what you can do during the lab to guarantee that you're taking advantage of your experience! What Are the Lab Requirements for AP Chemistry? Twenty-five percent of class time in AP Chemistry is given to labs, so they’re a major piece of the course. The College Board even says in the course depiction that expanded lab time is associated with higher AP scores! You will be relied upon to direct in any event sixteen hands-on lab analyzes consistently, and at any rate six of those sixteen must be guided request labs. The College Board stresses a request based methodology in the most exceptional educational program rules for AP Chemistry. This implies that you’ll be approached to work freely now and again. The educator will give a brief or question, yet you'll plan the remainder of the lab. This offers you the chance to direct legitimate analyses that test your theories without an instructor holding your hand the entire way. This methodology is outfitted towards helping understudies create logical ranges of abilities that they will utilize further down the road when there isn't an educator around to offer them the responses. In guided request labs, you will be relied upon to: Think of a logical inquiry Choose which factors you will explore Structure and direct trial techniques Gather, investigate, decipher, and show information Present ends fittingly The other (up to) ten labs in the course might be customary educator coordinated labs, however they will in any case bolster the learning goals of the course. A full rundown of AP Chemistry learning targets partitioned by the principle topics or â€Å"Big Ideas†can be found on page 107 of the course guidelines. The objective for every lab is to fuse whatever number of these goals as could be allowed with the goal that understudies benefit from their time. Every lab will fill a need in helping you handle fundamental ideas in AP Chemistry. Which AP Chemistry Labs Will You Actually Have to Do? The AP Chemistry lab educational program offers a decent measure of flexibility. The College Board gives a lab manual to instructors that incorporates 16 guided request labs. Educators would then be able to pick at any rate six of those labs to lead in class. The other at least ten labs in the course might be instructor coordinated (customary, bit by bit labs where all understudies tail one precise strategy). Instances of lab subjects you may investigate in AP Chemistry include: Spectroscopy Decide the convergence of a solute in arrangement dependent on the shade of the arrangement Gravimetric Analysis of a Precipitate Discover the personality of an obscure compound utilizing mass information Stoichiometry Decide the measure of broke up particles present in arrangement Dissolvability Decide the measure of broke up particles in arrangement Redox Titration Measure the measure of corrosive contained in an answer Response Rate Controlling factors to perceive how they influence substance response rates Vitality Decide change in vitality in different substance responses Harmony Amplifying yield in concoction responses Powerless Acid Titration Reaching inferences about corrosive properties from a pH titration bend for a powerless corrosive Cradles Investigate how cradles are made and what decides their ability to oppose changes in pH Electrochemistry Utilizing electrolysis to initiate non-unconstrained compound responses Prepare to investigate the interesting and startling scene of minuscule particles that make up our reality. AP Chemistry Lab Example Here’s a progressively explicit case of an AP Chemistry Lab.In this case, it was gotten from the AP Chemistry Lab Manual, so it’s a request based lab. Lab Title: The Preparation and Testing of an Effective Buffer: How Do Components Influence a Buffer's pH and Capacity?† Trial Overview: In this trial, the pH of water and various different arrangements will be estimated, and afterward acids and bases will be added to perceive how the pH is influenced. A few cradle arrangements of various pH esteems will be arranged and tried for their capacity to oppose change in pH. This covers the accompanying AP Chemistry learning objective (LO 6.18):The understudy can plan a cushion arrangement with an objective pH and cradle limit by choosing a suitable conjugate corrosive base pair and assessing the focus expected to accomplish the ideal limit. Materials Needed: Equipment: Offset with 0.01-gram accuracy Four 100 mL measuring utencils Three pipets Buret, ring stand, buret clip Two 250 mL Erlenmeyer carafes Two graduated chambers, 25 mL and 100 mL pH meter Blending bar Wash bottle and refined water Compound Solutions: 20 mL Acetic corrosive, 0.10 M 20 mL smelling salts, 0.10 M 20 mL ammonium chloride, 0.10 M 5 mL HCl, 0.10 M 1 mL of 1 percent Phenolphthalein 20 mL sodium acetic acid derivation, 0.10 M 40 mL sodium chloride, 0.10 M 5 mL sodium hydroxide, 0.10 M Obscure strong corrosive example, 2.0 g Security Precautions (a critical piece of every lab, particularly when you’re managing solid acids!): Wear substance sprinkle goggles, concoction safe gloves, and a synthetic safe cover. Wash hands completely with cleanser and water before leaving the research facility. Technique: Section 1: pH Changes in Non-cushioned Solutions 1. Spot 20 mL of refined or deionized water in a 100 mL recepticle. Test the pH utilizing a pH meter. Record the pH.2. Utilizing a pipet, include one drop of 0.10 M HCl, mix the arrangement and again test and record the pH.3. Rehash stage 2 with a second and third drop of 0.10 M HCl.4. Rehash stages 1-3 with 20 mL of 0.10 M NaCl solution.5. Spot 20 mL of refined or deionized water in a 100 mL recepticle. Test the pH utilizing a pH meter. Record the pH.6. Utilizing a pipet, include one drop of 0.10 M NaOH, mix the arrangement and again test the pH and record.7. Rehash stage 6 with a second and third drop of 0.10 M NaOH.8. Rehash stages 5-7 with 20 mL of 0.10 M NaCl arrangement. Section 2: pH Changes in Buffered Solutions 9. To set up a cradle, utilize 25 mL graduated chamber to include 10 mL of 0.10 M HC2H3O2 and 10.0 mL of 0.10 M NaC2H3O2 to a 100 mL beaker.10. Measure the pH of the support arrangement and record.. Include 1 drop of 0.10 M HCl, mix, measure and record the pH.12. Rehash step for two extra drops of 0.10 M HCl.13. Set up a new example of the HC2H3O2 - C2H3O2-cushion as in sync 9.14. Rehash steps and 12 by including 0.10 M NaOH.15. Set up a fundamental support by consolidating 10.0 mL of 0.10 M NH3 and 10.0 mL of 0.10 M NH4Cl in a 100 mL beaker.16. Rehash steps and 12 for this essential support solution.17. Rehash stage 14 by setting up a new example of the essential cradle and testing it with a dropwise expansion of three drops of 0.10 M NaOH. Section 3: Preparation of Buffer of a Given pH 18. Weigh out 1.8 to 2.0 g of a strong corrosive alloted to you.19. Break up the corrosive in 150 mL of refined water in a 250 mL Erlenmeyer flagon (cup 1).20. Pour 75 mL of this arrangement into a second 250 mL Erlenmeyer (cup 2), include 2 drops of phenolphthalein arrangement, and titrate to the phenolphthalein shading change with 0.20 M NaOH. Record the volume of titrant. You presently have an answer of a feeble corrosive in flagon 1, and an answer of the sodium salt of the powerless corrosive (its conjugate base) in the second cup 2. Make the convergences of the two arrangements the equivalent by including a similar volume of refined water to the corrosive cup 1 as the volume of NaOH you used to titrate the arrangement in carafe 2.21. Join 10.0 mL of your feeble corrosive arrangement in jar 1 with 10.0 mL of the conjugate base arrangement in flagon 2, blend, and measure the pH and record. This is the pKa of the acid.22. Your instructor will allot you the pH of a cradle to get rea dy. Compute the volume of frail corrosive and conjugate base that you should get ready 50 mL of a support of the relegated pH. 23. Measure out the volumes of corrosive and conjugate base, blend at that point measure and record the pH.24.Test your cradle answer for check whether it opposes changes in pH by estimating 20.0 mL of the and including 3 drops of 0.10 M HCl, and rehashing with 20.0 mL of cushion and 3 drops of NaOH. Record the pH esteems after every expansion. End Questions: 1. Talk about how the expansion of corrosive and base to refined water influenced its pH.2. Talk about how the expansion of corrosive and base to 0.10 M NaCl arrangement influenced its pH.3. Talk about how the expansion of corrosive and base to the acidic corrosive acetic acid derivation particle support influenced the pH.4. Talk about how the expansion of corrosive and base to the alkali ammonium particle cradle influenced the pH.5. Did your readied support coordinate your allocated pH esteem? Explain.6. Remark on the capacity of your readied cradle to oppose the difference in pH when corrosive and base were included the last advance of the examination. Notice that this lab at last requires free critical thinking aptitudes with respect to the student. You must make your own cushion arrangement of a specific pH and afterward test it to check whether it’s effective. While the system is unmistakably spread out, it won’t be actually the equivalent for each person. You could concoct more than one approach to make the last support answer for some random pH, so the lab is adaptable relying upon how you consider the problem. This sort of lab urges you to utilize information on science to take care of an issue innovatively. All the bits of the riddle are there for guided

Avatar, By James Cameron - 1710 Words

James Cameron’s film, AVATAR, is set under an imperialistic narrative of invasion for commercial gain, complete with the side story of â€Å"ethnographic exploration† in the name of science, on the planet of Pandora. The year is 2154, but the story is an old and familiar one - the Western colonization of non-Western peoples and the exploitation of their natural resources, such as land, oil, gold, or labor. While it is impossible to deny the impact and visual experience of the film and its commercial achievements (unprecedented global box office success), the story and narrative portray a very conservative way to understand history and the role the West has played in it. The premise of AVATAR is simple, using the traditional formula of boy meets girl, James Cameron introduces us to the year 2154 and presents a clash of civilizations. Resources Development Administration (RDA) with the assistance of a contracted private mercenary army, led by Colonel Quaritch, are looking for the precious mineral called unobtanium. Unobtanium is a much-needed energy source for planet earth. Colonel Quaritch and his army of mercenaries embark on a mission to clear the area of the NaVi and mine the desired unobtanium found underneath Hometree (a space belonging to the NaVi). A disabled Marine, Jake Sully, will take the form of an avatar in order to infiltrate the Na’Vi and gather intelligence that will help Colonel Quaritch find a way to force the Na’Vi to leave Hometree. Set In Italy During The Carnival Season, Edgar Allen Poe’S

Set in Italy during the carnival season, Edgar Allen Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado tells a story of revenge after a slanderous insult damages the narrator’s prestigious reputation. To stage this plot, Poe uses a variety of settings to convey a sense of dread and impending doom. These settings not only pull the audience into Poe’s world, they serve as important plot devices—often foreshadowing future events. Additionally, these settings convey a message to readers, allowing them to better understand the story and the imagery Poe uses to set the scene. The same wine is symbolically served to Fortunado by Montresor while the pair venture into the catacombs (17). Carnival season during evening provides readers with a sense of mystical imagery. As dusk is about to fall, mystery is in the air and gives readers an unearthly feeling. Traditional Italian carnivals are documented to have taken place since the fifth century. These celebrations were meant to make the most of the last few days before the fasting period of Lent. During this time, to keep the lower classes from protesting the inequity of life, wealthy men were only allowed to publicly wear their jewelry during holidays and carnival. This law catalyzed the tradition of the outrageous disguises with outlandish decorations. Festivities allowed freedom of expression as everyone followed in the grandeur of costumed dress. Carnival season was peaceful and fights seldom broke out. Masks erased all distinctions and barriers brought on by social class as the public escaped from the conformity of daily life (The Tradition of Carnival in Venice). The party of carnival is loud and bustling amidst i ntoxicating celebration with everyone disguised in costumes hiding their identities and motives. Comparative Analysis of Stakeholder Management †MyAssignmenthelp

Question: Discuss about the Comparative Analysis of Stakeholder Management. Answer: Introduction The mega projects are complex and very uncertain in nature thus, it requires effective stakeholder management. Stakeholder management enables a construction project to enhance their growth as well as brand image. In the recent years, Australia and India both have running mega projects. Thus, it is crucial for both countries to manage the stakeholder relationship. However, if an industry is not able to manage the stakeholder then conflicts between the stakeholders will be occurred (Mok et al. 2015). The mangers of a project need to accommodate the stakeholder interest by using their skill. This will enable the project managers to get best outcomes from their project. This study deals with the stakeholder management in India and Australian mega projects. Therefore, from this study, the issues of stakeholder management in a mega project and the way of managing stakeholders in a proper way will be evaluated. This research study sheds light on comparative analysis of stakeholder management in mega projects between India and Australia. Stakeholder management refers to the management of both internal and external stakeholders in an industry. In order to develop and delivery of a mega project stakeholder management is crucial for construction industry (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). In Australia, the process of stakeholder management is changed. In the recent years, the mega project developers have divided their stakeholders into two groups that are the primary and secondary stakeholders. Primary stakeholder includes workforce and customers. Therefore, secondary stakeholders include suppliers, regulatory bodies, media and environmental group. Success of a mega project needs proper support from these stakeholders. On the other hand, in India, the corporate failure is found in construction industry. This is due to lack of good governance. However, for this reason, stakeholder management is essenti al in Indian mega projects. In Australia, there is a huge complexity in transport infrastructure, which is also categorized under construction industry. This project faced slow political sensitivity and diverse group of stakeholder engagement. Development of transport mega project has both positive and negative impact on the parties who are involved in this project. However, in India, there are a lot of conflicts between the stakeholder management in a mega project (Chang et al. 2013). It has been found that mega projects are considered as a closed system at the beginning of the project. However, if the legitimate stakeholders do not take part actively in decision-making process then high risk and consequences can occur in the mega project. In the context of Australia, an involvement of stakeholders in transportation decision-making process s a big challenge as it is important for managers to optimize the value and concern of stakeholders. Providing reward is a helpful process to op timize the value of stakeholders and to get the best outcome in a mega project. In Indian mega project, the managers focus more on the communication process and establishment of good stakeholder relationship. Research Questions What type of stakeholder management is followed in India and Australia? What are the success factors of stakeholder management in the mega-project? Which country has best stakeholder management between India and Australia? This research paper highlights a comparative analysis of the stakeholder management in mega projects between India and Australia. This paper seeks to identify the methods through which the stakeholder management in the mega project is done. Therefore, the major issues of stakeholder management will be evaluated in this paper. To understand the stakeholder management in Indian and Australian mega project To carry out a comparative analysis of stakeholder management in a mega project between India and Australia To identify the success factors achieved from stakeholder management in a mega project of India and Australia To critically evaluate the best stakeholder management between India and Australia Literature Review Stakeholder management is considered as a critical component to deliver a project successfully (Littau et al. 2015). A stakeholder is an individual or a group, which may bring a big effect on an organization. It is important for a construction industry to involve their stakeholders in decision-making as it is required to give shape the project. Stakeholders management is a process of building a good relationship with the stakeholders by managing their expectations and proposed objectives. However, for any project, stakeholder management is crucial as if there is no proper stakeholder management in a project then it will be difficult for an organization to enhance their growth as well as the profitability. However, stakeholder management is a plan and one type of control, which needs to be managed through underlying principles. Stakeholder management in a mega project focuses on the adoption of strategy. In order to manage the stakeholders, an organization, as well as construction industry, needs to gather proper information. Stakeholder management is focused on the relationship between the organization and their interest group (Giezen 2012). This relationship leaves a major impact on the organization. It is crucial for the mega project developer to manage their project stakeholders by minimizing the negative effect on a project. The main purpose of stakeholder management is to ensure that there is no obstacle in mega project. In constructor sectors stakeholder management is considered as a theory. Stakeholders are divided into internal and external stakeholders. Internal stakeholders include an employee of the organization. Therefore, internal stakeholders provide finance to a project. External stakeholders refer to those people who are affected by a project (Eskerod et al. 2015). As for example, employee, partners and team members are internal stakeholders while, customer, government and external agencies are considered as external stakeholders. In the context of construction industry maximum projects include a lot of stakeholders and the diverse nature of stakeholders develops a conflict of interest. In construction project, the checklist of the stakeholders is big, which includes project management, facility manager, designer, shareholders, suppliers, competitors, banks, government, media, community, competitors, insurance company, general public and regional development agencies. In order to fulfill the expectations of stakeholders, the construction industry needs to identify their stakeholders properly. As argued by Eweje et al. (2012), registering stakeholders are the major risks for a construction industry. They often influence a project negatively. Stakeholders, who have a great power over the success of a megaproject, are vital for the construction industry. Construction industry often depends on external stakeholders such as resources, licenses, and financing. Stakeholder management model or stakeholder management umbrella is a vital model to understand the how to manage the stakeholders in a project. This strategic model includes four components such as stakeholder identification, stakeholder analysis, stakeholder communication and stakeholder engagement (Locatelli and Mancini 2014). Hence, by using the combination of these four components the mega project developers are able to manage their stakeholder relationship. However, effective stakeholder management is used to support any project and to identify the objectives of different stakeholders. Application of such model will be beneficial for an organization as well as construction industry to understand their stakeholder position and to build a good relationship with them by using effective communication. Several critical factors are associated with stakeholder engagement in mega project. One of the major factors is the identification of each stakeholder interest. However, if an organization is not able to identify the needs of their stakeholders then it will be difficult for them to satisfy their stakeholders and to establish a good relationship with them (Turner and Zolin 2012). Development of a robust stakeholder management plan is crucial to manage the stakeholders in a mega project. Use of a range of communication channels including local network is vital for stakeholder management. However, to lead a project towards the success it is important for construction industry to generate an effective communication with the stakeholders to enhance the stakeholder engagement. On the other hand, a stakeholder prioritizing roadmap is an essential factor of stakeholder engagements in mega project. Such prioritizing roadmap is beneficial to deal with a large number of stakeholders with diffe rent types and level. On the other hand, establishment of an effective system in the project is essential to manage the stakeholders. This can be done by taking feedback from the stakeholders. Such feedback helps the construction industry to take necessary decision based on the project. The major issue of stakeholder management in Australia is lack of proper support from each stakeholder. However, often one specific group supports a decision while another group is non-supportive. This is a major challenge for Australian construction industry. Such lack of support from all level of stakeholders is a major reason of failure of mega project in Australia. In India, the mega project developer has been facing huge communication challenge during their stakeholder management (Priemus 2010). Due to poor communication between the individuals and groups, the success rate of mega projects is decreased by 4% in India. Such barriers affect the success of construction projects in both Australia and India. Apart from these the regulatory bodies of both countries often bring obstruction in construction project. As for example, it is a big responsibility of Australian construction industry to reduce their impact on the environment. If the construction industry is not able to reduce t heir impact on the environment then they may face a legal issue. Stakeholder management in Australian mega project Australian mega project developers in the construction industry identify the stakeholders based on the nature of a project. In Australia mega project developers of construction industry operate in the global market (Mok et al. 2015). They follow joint venture strategy to enhance their market share. Hence, the construction industry regulates the relationship between different process agents by making a contract. A legal contract is maintained between the builders and the client during the mega project. There is a time limitation to finish the job in a mega project, which the stakeholders need to follow. Therefore, a budgetary target is given to stakeholders, which improves the stakeholder management in a pressured environment (Molwus et al. 2017). After the building contractions phase, other stakeholders such as clients and facilities can enjoy their interest thus, the management of stakeholders is maintained throughout the construction lifecycle. Australian mega project developer in Australia often faces challenges during their stakeholder management due to lack of proper definition of stakeholder roles. In Australia, construction industry manages their internal stakeholders by using effective communication. However, they gather feedbacks from internal stakeholders and then take a necessary decision based on this feedback. On the other hand, by using different communication channels mega project developer can communicate with the different stakeholders. Proper communication helps the management to identify specific needs of each stakeholder. As argued by Yang and Shen (2014), legal compliance is a vital part to build a good relationship with external stakeholders otherwise the operation process can be affected. AER or Australian Energy Regulator has published a new framework for stakeholder management in Australia (Aer.gov.au 2018). The construction industry of Australia needs to follow such framework in order to comply with legal requirements. This framework helps the mega project developers to meet the objectives of external agencies. As per the Environmental and Biodiversity Protection Act 1999, Australian construction industry needs to reduce their business impact from an environment. Hence, the mega project developers need to co-operate with external agencies during the audit program. This will help to manage the regulatory body as well as the external stakeholders in Australia. Stakeholder management in Indian mega project Project stakeholder management in India highlights the identification of group or individual. After identification of the stakeholders Indian mega project developers creates a plan for stakeholders management (Loosemore and Lim 2017). Poor communication between the stakeholders is a big problem of stakeholder management in Indian mega project. For this reason, the construction industry uses interpersonal and management skill to enhance the communication process. By creating proper collaboration and making transparency Indian mega project developers enhances the internal stakeholder management in construction industry. Indian construction industry follows a strategic approach to give priority to the stakeholders. Therefore, they use multi-fiduciary approach, which reveals the responsibilities of stakeholders. On the other hand, by taking stakeholder synthesis approach the construction industry in India deals with the stakeholders ethically. In order to comply with regulatory bodies, t he construction industry follows National Highway Act 1998 and Central Road Fund Act 2000. From the above analysis, it has been found that Australian mega project industry has faced issue due to lack of support from their all level of stakeholders. As criticized by Yang and Shen (2014), inadequate support from the stakeholders hamperS the success of a project. On the other hand, in India, there is a huge communication problem that is faced by the mega project developer. However, from the above comparative analysis of stakeholder management between India and Australia, it has been received that Australian mega project industry focuses on environmental sustainability in comparison to India. On the other hand, Indian mega project developer gives their concentration on keeping transparency and establishing effective communication. Research methodology plays a crucial role in the research study. However, the success of a research paper depends on its methodology. In this current study, secondary research methodology will be taken. In order to analyze the data qualitative method will be applied. A qualitative research method is an effective approach that enables the researcher to carry out an in-depth research. A range of techniques is used in this qualitative research method, which helps the individuals to understand the perspectives of people regarding any problem (Taylor, Bogdan, and DeVault, 2015). I this current study, a comparative analysis of stakeholder management in a mega project between India and Australia will be taken. Hence, by using qualitative research methodology an individual will be able to gather authentic data on this particular topic. Qualitative research can be done by using literature review and case study analysis. To understand the stakeholder management in the mega project of India and Australia case study analysis will be helpful. In this current study positivism, philosophy will be taken to conduct the research. Positivism philosophy depends on factual knowledge that is achieved from observation. This philosophy allows the researcher to collect limited data that is quantifiable (Lewis 2015). Positivism philosophy includes ontological view, which is helpful to incorporate reliable data in the research study. Deductive approach will be selected in this current research study. Deductive approach is beneficial to develop a hypothesis in the research study. In deductive approach, hypothesis is developed from proposition theory (Chang et al. 2013). Deductive research is beneficial to transfer the research findings from particular to general. Deductive approach is based on existing theory. In this research study, application of deductive approach will be beneficial to analyze data on stakeholder management in India and Australia by evaluating the existing theory. In this research project, descriptive design will be undertaken to collect data. Descriptive research design focuses on the present issue. This design method is helpful to identify the current issue of stakeholder management in mega projects between Australia and India. However, different aspects of research phenomenon can be described by descriptive design. Many variables can be employed by descriptive design while only one variable is used to conduct the descriptive design. Observational studies are the major components of descriptive design (Silverman 2016). Descriptive design is not limited to data collection and observation; however, it can specify case studies. In this present research study case study will be taken to collect data thus, a descriptive design will be applicable. Secondary data will be collected in this research methodology by using government websites, journals, and articles. To get authentic data from the databases exclusion and inclusion criteria will be used. To cover the qualitative analysis case study based on mega projects of Australia and India will be taken. Case study analysis will be beneficial for this study as it will provide in-depth information regarding the topic (Flick 2015). A case study is significant to provide detailed information on a specific topic. On the other hand, case study provides reliable and existing data to complete the research study. This research study is an objective based research and by using case study analysis the objectives of the research will be fulfilled. After gathering data this will be represented by using chart, tables, and graphs. During the conduction of a research, it is important to keep the reliability and validity of data. Often the individual is not able to take information from all jour nals due to reliability issue. Those journals are not authentic. In order to collect data maintenance of reliability is crucial as vague data may hamper the significance as well as the quality of the study. Validity of a research can be maintained by taking updated information. A good research methodology includes current information, which ensures the validity of the data. Moreover, manipulation needs to avoid during the representation of data and proper citation is required. Case study analysis of stakeholder management in mega project of India and Australia Sustainable Melbourne Fund or SMF has taken initiative to generate environmental and economic value in mega project stakeholder management in Australia. Darzin was used by SMF to make a good interaction with key stakeholders in order to deliver development initiatives. However, Darzin provides an essential tool to SMF to fulfill the key objectives in stakeholder management. The tools include a central record keeping system regarding the stakeholder information. Darzin tools also include a qualitative analysis to identify the stakeholder issues in managing the relationship regarding funding, which is essential for stakeholder management in SMF (Darzin.com 2018). In India, Gujarat International Finance Tea-City or GIFT is a popular construction project between Gandhinagar and Ahmadabad. Stakeholders such as International Monetary Fund and Agencies of United Nation are the major stakeholders of this project. In this project, the stakeholders are managed by using different communication channels as poor communication was the major barrier to this project. The main aim of this project is the development of eco-friendly design and energy efficient city (Thebetterindia.com 2018). The stakeholders are managed by using market research survey. Therefore, the coordination between the stakeholders was improved by taking feedbacks from both internal and external stakeholders. Expected Outcomes From the above study, it can be said that India and Australia have different stakeholder management issues. Therefore, the mega project developers have taken different initiatives to enhance the stakeholder management in these countries. Therefore, it can be said this study will help to understand the major challenges of stakeholder management in India and Australia. On the other hand, based on the literature review it can be assumed that by taking proper strategic action plan and communication plan both Australian and Indian mega project developers can identify the specific issue of each stakeholder. On the other hand, legal compliance with the external agencies is an effective approach to stakeholder management, which will allow the construction industry to avoid any legal obstacle in their project. Conclusion The entire piece of work highlights a comparative analysis of stakeholders management between Indian and Australian mega project. However, it is found that lack of adequate support and poor communication are the two major barriers to stakeholder management in mega project. Use of effective communication channels and proper coordination will be helpful to enhance the relationship between the stakeholders. On the other hand, stakeholder management in Australia and India depends on regulatory bodies. However, it is crucial for every mega project holder to comply with the regulatory bodies who are considered as the external stakeholders. Genetic Engineering Essays (2864 words) - Molecular Biology

Genetic engineering Science is a creature that continues to evolve at a much higher rate than the beings thatgave it birth. The transformation time from tree-shrew, to ape, to human far exceeds the timefrom analytical engine, to calculator, to computer. But science, in the past, has always remaineddistant. It has allowed for advances in production, transportation, and even entertainment, butnever in history will science be able to so deeply affect our lives as genetic engineering willundoubtedly do. With the birth of this new technology, scientific extremists and anti-technologists have risen in arms to block its budding future. Spreading fear by misinterpretationof facts, they promote their hidden agendas in the halls of the United States congress. Geneticengineering is a safe and powerful tool that will yield unprecedented results, specifically in thefield of medicine. It will usher in a world where gene defects, bacterial disease, and even agingare a thing of the past. By understanding genetic engine ering and its history, discovering itspossibilities, and answering the moral and safety questions it brings forth, the blanket of fearcovering this remarkable technical miracle can be lifted. The first step to understanding genetic engineering, and embracing its possibilities forsociety, is to obtain a rough knowledge base of its history and method. The basis for altering theevolutionary process is dependant on the understanding of how individuals pass oncharacteristics to their offspring. Genetics achieved its first foothold on the secrets of nature'sevolutionary process when an Austrian monk named Gregor Mendel developed the first "laws ofheredity." Using these laws, scientists studied the characteristics of organisms for most of the next one hundred years following Mendel's discovery. These early studies concluded that eachorganism has two sets of character determinants, or genes (Stableford 16). For instance, inregards to eye color, a child could receive one set of genes from hi s father that were encoded oneblue, and the other brown. The same child could also receive two brown genes from his mother. The conclusion for this inheritance would be the child has a three in four chance of havingbrown eyes, and a one in three chance of having blue eyes (Stableford 16). Genes are transmitted through chromosomes which reside in the nucleus of every livingorganism's cells. Each chromosome is made up of fine strands of deoxyribonucleic acids, orDNA. The information carried on the DNA determines the cells function within the organism. Sex cells are the only cells that contain a complete DNA map of the organism, therefore, "thestructure of a DNA molecule or combination of DNA molecules determines the shape, form, and function of the [organism's] offspring " (Lewin 1). DNA discovery is attributed to the researchof three scientists, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, and James Dewey Watson in 1951. Theywere all later accredited with the Nobel Price in physiology and medicin e in 1962 (Lewin 1). "The new science of genetic engineering aims to take a dramatic short cut in the slow process of evolution" (Stableford 25). In essence, scientists aim to remove one gene from anorganism's DNA, and place it into the DNA of another organism. This would create a new DNAstrand, full of new encoded instructions; a strand that would have taken Mother Nature millionsof years of natural selection to develop. Isolating and removing a desired gene from a DNAstrand involves many different tools. DNA can be broken up by exposing it to ultra-high-frequency sound waves, but this is an extremely inaccurate way of isolating a desirable DNA section (Stableford 26). A more accurate way of DNA splicing is the use of "restrictionenzymes, which are produced by various species of bacteria" (Clarke 1). The restrictionenzymes cut the DNA strand at a particular location called a nucleotide base, which makes up aDNA molecule. Now that the desired portion of the DNA is cut out, it can be joined to another strand of DNA by using enzymes called ligases. The final important step in the creation of anew DNA strand is giving it the ability to self-replicate. This can be accomplished by usingspecial pieces of DNA, called vectors, that permit the generation of multiple copies of a totalDNA strand and fusing it to the newly created DNA structure. Another newly developed method, called polymerase chain reaction, allows for faster replication of DNA strands and doesnot

Adhd Essays - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Free Essays

Adhd Essays - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Free Essays Adhd Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental disorders among children. About 3 percent to 5 percent of American children are affected by this disorder. This disorder is commonly mis-diagnosed in children who are very hyperactive, assuming that very hyperactive kids have this disorder. In this paper I plan to discuss ideas such as: the symptoms, theories of causation, risks, and how this disorder is looked at and treated. There are signs that a child may be affected by ADHD, which are very noticeable in some cases. Some of the physical symptoms that are involved include hyperactivity, inattention, and impulsitivity. When discussing inattention, the idea that individuals have difficulty sustaining interest in finishing a task, strangely, a person with ADHD may have no problems with attention while doing an activity they enjoy, but wont be able to finish a complicated or new task. People with this disorder are often noted for their inconsistencies, have bad handwriting, miss details, and are often forgetful. But because the individual over-focuses on something of great interest, or something that is highly stimulating, many times an untrained observer may assume that this ability to concentrate negates the possibility of ADHD being a concern, especially when they see children able to pay attention while working one-on-one with someone, doing something they enjoy, or can sit and play a video game or watch television for hours on end. In addition to problems with attention, people with ADHD can be fidgety, and appear to be moving around constantly. Which leads me to myth that all people with ADHD ar e hyperactive, this is not always the case. Because society has traditionally thought of a person with ADHD as being hyper, many children who have this disorder with no signs of being hyperactive are not being identified or treated. For those individuals who are not hyperactive, they are often thought of as a day-dreamers or an absent-minded professors. The non-hyperactive children with ADHD most often seem to be girls, but it is 5 to 7 more common in boys. (Booth, 2000) Another symptom that is very common in people with ADHD is impulsitivity, which means that the individual seems to be unable to think before they act. They may interrupt others who are talking, blurt out inappropriate comments, or have a hard time waiting their turn. Regardless of the consequence, people with ADHD can out as if they are out of control. Although researchers are still studying exactly what causes ADHD, they know what doesnt cause it, and that is sugar. Sugar and food additives dont cause ADHD, and in research study in 1982 the National Institutes of Health concluded that restricting sugar and food additive consumption only helped about 5% of the children with this disorder. Minor brain injuries from early infection, or birth complications also have been ruled out, head injuries can only explain a few cases of ADHD, not all of them. Television watching, poor home and school environments also dont cause ADHD, they may contribute to behavior that resembles the symptoms. Instead new theories point to low levels of activity in some parts of the brain as an indicator of ADHD. In one study, investigators found that control attention, meaning that areas were less active and caused inattention. Cocaine and heavy alcohol use during pregnancy may also distort developing nerve cell. Using alcohol during pregnancy may cause fetal alcohol syndrome, which leads to low birth weight, and certain physical and intellectual impairments. Many FAS children also show the same symptoms as children with ADHD. I feel that you can rule out genes, because they probably account for some ADHD causes. Children with this disorder usually have at least one relative with ADHD, with one-third of fathers with ADHD having children with disorder also. More important, identical twins are often both affected.(National ADD, 97) Treatment is available for people who have ADHD, which includes therapy and drug treatment. But in order to make sure these symptoms are from an actual case of ADHD, and not from an emotional or physical disorder, a medical professional would need to look at the history of the symptoms, ruling out any learning disabilities, or physical problems or environmental factors

Influence of the media on politics in the society Research Paper

Influence of the media on politics in the society - Research Paper Example Journalism entails collection of information from the scenes, recording of the information and transfer of the information to the targeted group. Mass media is understood to be an organization of the journalists and communication tools which are used together to convey information in the most effective, efficient and convenient manner. There are various interpretations that are offered to communication and so does the crisis in communication. Crisis communication is understood to be a sub-specialty that is incorporated in the public relations field, and is purposely designed to help in protecting and shielding organizations and individuals who are faced by public challenge to their standing (Ulmer, npag). According to the understanding drawn from some professionals, communication crisis is the assumption or viewpoint of changeable situations that are observed to have a negative threat to the expectations of individuals. This is especially directed to business organizations where the stakeholders are faced by unpredictable situations in the sense that they cannot determine the future of an organization in terms of the financial status or stand. There are various issues that have been confirmed to be influenced by mass media, and these are with inclusion of the public sectors, private sectors and the political systems among others. The cultural and societal expectations from people are also affected by the mass media due to the communication approaches that are used. This results to communication crisis, which negatively alters the performance of people or organizations in a given community. Considering the elements that need to be considered in ensuring that the communication crisis plan is effective, it is essential to consider the content, the mood, the language and the design of the communication approaches that are

Students With Visual Impairment - Reflection and Response Essay

Students With Visual Impairment - Reflection and Response - Essay Example The film comprises of four young characters named Chas, Meagan, Denise and Isaac whose dreams go beyond reality. While Chas and Meagan were seniors, Denise and Isaac were both freshmen at college. In this 72 minute film, the audience is transported to a totally different world of unsightly darkness. The film sheds light on the dreams and aspirations of these young people and how they strive to realize them. The film that was shot over a period of one year depicts the obstacles that come in the way of fulfilling their dreams and the positive attitude of never say die that its characters exhibit in their daily lives. A. Student Background Information Chas is an African American student whose aspiration it was to be a Rap singer, but was unfortunately afflicted with a genetic eye condition that ran in his family. However, Chas was not one to shy away from the fact that he was handicapped. On the other hand, he tried to push himself in spite of it and explored the world around him. He ma de a sincere attempt to prepare himself for the outside world. His attitude was mostly positive and he always liked to learn something new. When he was not with his studies, work or with his sweetheart Ashley, he did his best to hone his skills of emceeing as 1 to Cee (One to see) and becoming a Rap artist. In fact the title of his first Rap number is â€Å"The Eyes of me† which also happens to be the title of this documentary that enumerates the emotions, feelings and experiences of his handicap. Meagan was the other senior in Maitland’s documentary â€Å"The Eyes of Me†. The cause for her becoming blind was related to cancer of the retina at the tender age of 17 months. Meagan was devastated by the loss of her eye sight and she suffered from poor self esteem and became an introvert with practically no social life what-so-ever. Her condition was supposedly treatable, but the radiation technique that was used to remove the cancerous portions was also responsible for putting an end to her vision once and for all. However, Meagan regained her self confidence and zest for life after coming to this special school and is now well on her way to acquiring her Master’s in social work and becoming a professional counselor at a reputed hospital or school. The other two enterprising freshmen in the documentary are Denise and Isaac who are highly enthusiastic about what they want to be in life. Denise suffered from shortened nerves to the eye but tries her best to make things work to her advantage. For example, she loves acting and did just that. In the course of time she has morphed into a â€Å"Cinderella† from the withdrawn character that she was. She is seen dancing, acting, practicing and chatting as any young girl of her age would do. In the documentary we see her enthusiastically honing her acting skills and then doing her best on stage. However, Isaac was unlike the other three protagonists because he had only recently at the age of 14 lost his eye sight in an accident that served to detach his retinas. Though the shattering experience of being completely blind was something new to him, yet he never lost his self confidence at any time. In fact, he aspires to become the first blind President of the United States! B. Description of Typical Compensatory Strategies It is a

Reluctant Collectivists Essay Example for Free

Reluctant Collectivists Essay The events of the 20th century, especially of its first part had brought a lot of things to think over in political and economical sphere. The global economical crisis of the 1930ies and the War time had proved there have to be changes made in the regulation of the political and social relationships as well as in the government policy. Time showed that for consistent and stable development of the country there as to special welfare social programs that would defend all classes of the society.    Reluctant collectivists proposed that there has to be state intervention in the country’s economy that would execute the role of mechanism for making good the failure of the market to control avoidable ills, but they didn’t have a purpose of using it as the only instrument for economical change.    Two of the most known reluctant collectivists Keynes and Beveridge are known to be the founders of the British Welfare sate. They strongly believed in the concept of free market relations, and the minimization of the state intervention by their opinion would maximize the efficiency of economics, political and social freedoms.   Ã‚  Ã‚   But still reluctant collectivists argued that for a wide variety of political and economical reasons the market in the free society was not working on the ideal level as it was noted by economic theorists. The economical problems and social issues that Great Britain faced during and after WW2 motivated the need of state regulation, as they proposed. By their opinion the economical waste and instability may discredit parliamentary democracy and gave the birth to mistrust to the government.    Even though that reluctant collectivists were in favor of state regulations and intervention of state to the market and economics of the country in the serious period of economical situation, they still didn’t fully support social insurance system. By their opinion the organization of social security is not the state’s problem, the assistance schemes of the government according to reluctant collectivists should simply include the guarantee of living income for each citizen. And that’s why the living standards above the minimum wage have to be gained by individuals themselves.    The philosophical premises of the reluctant collectivism are originated in the theories of free market, which is considered to be the best mechanism that insures initiative of the individual and hence political freedom.   But here comes the question: if there has to be a need in state regulation of market and economical relations how much of the intervention is needed for that. The obvious answer is the following: the weakness and the strengths of the market have to be analyzed first. This pragmatism puts reluctant collectivists close to the conservatives, whose philosophy accepts the preserving of the best that remains from the past, while adopting new things that are most likely to change the situation for better.    Justification of their political aims and program by reluctant collectivists during the period of serious economical issues in the UK helped Conservatives to come to power in 1950ies and 1960ies. But still the theory of â€Å"reluctant collectivism† that seems to rapidly react on the changes in state’s market and economy can not fully answer the question what is good for the further development of market that doesn’t face problems. As the result the existing problems in understanding of the market development program caused the contradictions in the views of conservatives and those who belonged to reluctant collectivists. The understanding of the market virtues by reluctant collectivists didn’t give the chance for introducing and practicing economical and market reforms. As a result most of their programs lost their actuality in 1960ies. Reference George. V. Wilding, P(1985). The Reluctant collectivists. In ideology and social welfare(pp.44-68). New York: Routledge.

The House on Mango Street - Fantasy vs. Reality :: House Mango Street

The House on Mango Street - Fantasy vs. Reality Sometime in our lives, we have wished for things we don't have. No matter how hard we wished on the star or a candle, our wishes never seemed to be answered. We have all felt that bitter disappointment on Christmas morning when we finally realized that we were never going to be able to have what we want. This is the same exact feelings that the characters in Cisneros' The House on Mango Street. Unlike us, the disappointment for these characters last throughout their childhood. Esperanza, Rachel, Nenny, Sally, and Lucy are among the kids growing up on Mango Street. They all long for friendship, love, and a better life, but all these kids face are the harsh reality of the "real world." In the society that Esperanza and her friends live in, love takes a back seat when it comes to relationships. "Someday, I will have a best friend all my own. One I can tell my secrets to. One who will understand my jokes without my having to explain them." These are the longing words of Esperanza. While growing up on Mango Street, Esperanza finds herself in a community that she feels she doesn't belong to. With all her heart, she longs for a true friend that she can tell her dreams to and will understand her for it. These wishes seem easy enough to grant, but Esperanza soon finds out that there is more to friendship. "If you give me five dollars, I will be your friend forever." Esperanza discovers that she can not have anything for nothing. Rachel and Lucy sure enough become her friends, but only after she helped them pay for the bike. Esperanza never does truly find a real friend who shares the same goal as she does because all the friends she has have more problems than her. For instance, Sally was a friend for whom Esperanza cared for. When Esperanza was raped, Sally was not there to help her and when Esperanza tried to prevent Sally from making a mistake, Sally told her to leave. All Esperanza wanted was a friendship that would help her escape her life, but all she ended up with were friendships that reminded her of her broken dreams because in her society nothing was given for free and the people she was associated with didn't have the same goals as she did. Another one of those broken dreams was the concept of love. Esperanza was not the only one who longed for a man's endless love.

Configuring ETRN on the Server and the Client Essay

To set up ETRN, you need to configure the server and the client separately. The ISP usually configures the server side. The setup is simple if your ISP is using Exchange Server. Go to the Connections tab of the IMS property sheet. Under Message delivery, click E-Mail Domain. Add the customer’s domain name and select the Queue messages for ETRN check box, as you see inScreen 1. If you don’t check this box, the ISP server will immediately attempt to deliver messages even though the ETRN client is offline. Checking this box prevents unsuccessful retries and nondelivery reports (NDRs) back to the originator. ISPs that don’t use Exchange Servers can configure the Sendmail utility for ETRN capability. The ETRN client requires more complex configuration. First, configure when the ETRN client sends mail. If you’re using RAS, be sure you’ve configured the RAS client and a phone book entry pointing to your ISP before you begin. From Exchange Server, go to the IMS property sheet to configure your connector for ETRN dial-up. From the Dial-up Connections tab, which Screen 2 shows, choose the appropriate remote access entry from the Available connections window. Next, decide on a schedule for calling your ISP. As Screen 2 shows, you have several options, including transferring mail at specific intervals or whenever mail is queued up. Note that you don’t explicitly define when to close the connection. The IMS terminates the connection depending on the setting in the Time-out after X min window. This parameter refers to idle time; the connection closes after the number of minutes you specify have passed. Your ISP must be able to dequeue your inbound mail within this period, or the connection will close prematurely. The connection might close if the dequeue process doesn’t proceed in a timely fashion after you’ve established the connection with the ISP. You can accommodate a slow start of the dequeuing process by increasing the time value. You configure logon validation for the dial-up connection by clicking Logon Information on the Dial-up Connectors tab. On the screen that opens, enter your username, password, and domain (if appropriate). This information (which your ISP gives you) provides the credentials for ETRN to match against the server and provides security between the two servers. To configure ETRN to let your ISP send your mail to you, click Mail Retrieval to get to the screen that you see in Screen 3. Click Retrieve mail using ETRN. To specify the proper Internet domain, you can use the Routing property page (from the IMS property sheet) or hard-code your domain names by selecting Use these domains and entering domains in the window. The latter option signals the ISP to dequeue messages from this domain only. If you’ve defined subdomains, precede the domain name with an at (@) character to collect mail for all domains. Subdomains let you partition companies into operating units with separate email addresses. For example, the NCR.com Internet domain has several subdomains, such as daytonoh.NCR.com and columbiasc.NCR.com. If your ISP has defined separate hosts for inbound and outbound messages, you can select Send ETRN to specified host instead of outbound mail host and define the IP address of the inbound host. If your service provider uses the TURN command instead of ETRN, you can click Issue TURN after delivering outbound mail. If you use this option, your ISP might need to authenticate your identity, if the ISP has this functionality. You can configure these credentials (e.g., name and password) on the Security tab of the IMS property sheet. This authentication usually uses the AUTH LOGIN ESMTP extension to send the account and password on the outbound connection. If your ISP uses UNIX instead of Exchange Server, you can use the UNIX Sendmail application to dequeue messages from the ISP’s SMTP gateway for delivery to the ETRN client. To configure Sendmail, select Custom command to invoke a script that uses the Sendmail function. You enter the script in the window next to the option. For instance, the remote shell command (Rsh) causes Sendmail to run at the service provider after you’ve established a connection. For example, the syntax  Rsh I isp.com l logonalias â€Å"/user/lib/sendmail q R NCR.com† starts the remote shell, then connects to a service provider called ISP.com. The logon alias starts the shell at the ISP (this alias must match the rhosts file on the ISP). The rest of the command executes the remote shell and sends the queue to the specified domain (NCR.com). The final step in the client portion of ETRN setup is to configure your server to queue mail in the IMS for later transfer to your ISP via ETRN. On the IMS Connections tab, which Screen 4 shows, selectForward all messages to host under Message Delivery, and then enter your ISP’s IP address. Check the Dial using check box, and be sure the correct RAS phone book entry appears in the adjacent window.
